Allahabad High Court Denies Bail To Man Accused Of Killing His Wife, Chopping Her Into Pieces, And Throwing It Away
The Allahabad High Court denied bail to the applicant, Sameer Khan, accused of killing his wife/paramour, whose body was chopped into 6 pieces and was stuffed in two bags and was thrown away in a secluded place in July, 2020.
The Bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh said that "Considering the allegations, heinousness of offence and the evidence available on record, this Court does not find any ground to enlarge the accused-applicant on bail."
In this case, the accused murdered his wife/paramour named Ayesha on July 5th, 2020 with an iron rod after a dispute erupted between them. The accused, after killing her, allegedly chopped her body parts into 6 pieces, stuffed them into 2 suitcases and threw them away from a car in a secluded place, and fled away. An FIR under Sections 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 was lodged.
The accused who originally belonged to UP, used to work in Mumbai, where he met the deceased and started living as husband and wife. Hereafter, in 2020, during the lockdown period, they moved to Lucknow and started living as husband and wife.
The accused got arrested in August 2020 and confessed the killing of the deceased. Besides the confessional statement of the accused-applicant, on his pointing out, the car which was used for throwing the body of the deceased, the chopper by which the deceased body was cut into pieces and stuffed in two bags, were recovered.
Advocate Rajendra Prasad Mishra appeared for the applicant- accused and AGA Ran Vijay Singh appeared for the State.
The Court considering the facts and circumstances of the case refused to grant bail to the accused. However, directed the Trial Court to expedite the trial proceedings and conclude the same, within one year as the accused has been in jail since August 16th, 2020.
Accordingly, the bail was denied.
