Centre Notifies Appointment Of Two Advocates As Additional Judges Of Chhattisgarh High Court

The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of two advocates of Chhattisgarh High Court to be Additional Judges of that High Court.

The Advocates appointed are:

  1. Bibhu Datta Guru
  2. Amitendra Kishore Prasad

The notification dated August 12, 2024 read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S!Shri (i) Bibhu Datta Guru and (ii) Amitendra Kishore Prasad, to be Additional Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.”

In July of this year, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names for appointment as Additional Judges.
