The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the transfer of sixteen judges of nine High Courts. Two of the sixteen judges are additional judges. Among the transfers announced is the transfer of the Acting Chief Justice of Manipur High Court to the Calcutta High Court. Though the official notification has not been published, the Union Law and Justice Minister has tweeted the list of transfers affected.
The tweet by the Law Minister read, “In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer the following High Court Judges.”
