SC Collegium Recommends Repatriation Of Delhi HC Justice Chandra Dhari Singh To Parent High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium consisting of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant has recommended the transfer of Justice Chandra Dhari Singh, a judge of the Delhi High Court, back to his parent High Court, the Allahabad High Court.

This decision was made in a resolution passed by the Collegium during their meetings on November 28 and 29, 2024.

The Collegium’s statement confirmed the recommendation for the repatriation of Justice Singh to the Allahabad High Court, where he began his judicial career.

Justice Singh, born in 1969, was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court in September 2017 and became a permanent judge in September 2019. He was transferred to the Delhi High Court in October 2021.

The resolution dated November, 29, 2024 read, “The Supreme Court Collegium in its meetings held on 28th and 29th November 2024 has recommended repatriation of Mr. Justice Chandra Dhari Singh, Judge, High Court of Delhi, to his parent High Court i.e. the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad.”
