SCBA President Adish Aggarwala With Retired Judges And Jurists To Unfurl National Flag At Srinagar's Lal Chowk
A delegation of retired Judges and top Jurists of India led by the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the International Council of Jurists, Dr. Adish C Aggarwala will be unfurling the National flag on June 18, 2023, at Shrinagar's Lal Chowk in order to demonstrate normalcy in the state after scraping of Article 370 of the Constitution.
Senior Advocate Dr. Adish C Aggarwala announced the trip through a press release of the All India Bar Association, of which he is the Chairman, which said that this gesture is meant to demonstrate the ground reality to the international community that after scraping Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir has returned to normalcy after the Centre's "brave decision" to scrap Article 370.
The Sindh High Court Bar Association of Pakistan had passed a resolution on May 20 to observe a full day strike on May 22 "as a mark of complete protest against decision of Indian Government for holding G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in dispute territory of Srinagar, India Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJK) and to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir". The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana had passed a resolution condemning the resolution passed by the Sindh High Court Bar Association. Thereafter, the Karnataka State Bar Council issued a press release condemning the resolution passed by the Bar Associations of Pakistan.
"The abrogation of Article 370, from Jammu and Kashmir, was not only wise but has also taken the wind out of Pakistan's sails on the Kashmir issue despite Pakistan's never-ending nefarious designs", says the press release by Dr. Aggarwala.
Delegates are scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir from June 16 to June 19, 2023. During their stay, they will be visiting various public places like schools, colleges and hospitals.
