Centre Notifies Appointment Of Advocate As Additional Judge Of Gauhati High Court
The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Advocate Kardak Ete as Additional Judge of Gauhati High Court.
“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Kardak Ete as an additional judge of the Gauhati High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”, the notification read.
This comes after the Supreme Court collegium had recommended the name of Advocate Kardak Ete to be appointed as Additional Judge of Gauhati High Court.
While recommending the name of Advocate Kardak Ete, the Supreme Court Collegium stated that the report of the Intelligence Bureau indicated that he enjoys a good personal and professional image and nothing adverse has come to notice with regard to integrity. It was further added that he belongs to a Scheduled Tribe and that his appointment will bring greater diversity and inclusion to the High Court.
