Centre Notifies Appointment Of Two Judges Of Chhattisgarh High Court

The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Additional Judges, Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas and Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi as Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (l) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri Justices (i) Narendra Kumar Vyas and (ii) Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Additional Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court as Judges of that High Court with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.", the Law Ministry stated in the notification.

Justice Narendra Kumar Vyas has practiced as an Advocate in District and Sessions Court at Raipur, Raigarh and Bilaspur, Labour and Industrial Courts, Raipur, High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur and High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur.

While practicing law before Chhattisgarh High Court, Justice Vyas was appointed as an Assistant Solicitor General of India and continued till 2017. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court in 2021.

Justice Naresh Kumar Chandravanshi has served as legal adviser to Governor of Chhattisgarh and thereafter as Principal Secretary, Law and Legislative Affairs Department Government of Chhattisgarh. He took oath as an Additional Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court in 2021.
