Justice M. R. Shah of the Supreme Court has confirmed through a video message that he is well, after a legal news portal reported that he passed away due to cardiac arrest.
"By the grace of God, I am okay, I am stable. Nothing to worry", the Judge said in a video message.
Justice Shah had suffered a cardiac arrest while in Himachal Pradesh and was brought to Delhi for treatment.
The news portal that published the false news has subsequently apologised. "We tender an unqualified apology and remorse for the unintentional error of our reporter. We have taken disciplinary action against the reporter for the said error", India Legal said.
It is reported that the Chief Justice of India spoke to the Home Ministry to facilitate the shifting of Justice Shah to Delhi via an air ambulance.
Justice Shah says in his video message that by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, he will be okay.
