US Based Evangelist K A Paul Claims He Is Behind PIL Filed Before SC By A Retired Judge And Journalist

US-based Indian evangelist K. A. Paul, who has approached the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs not to renew FCRA registration of some NGOs including the Missionaries of Charity, has claimed that the PIL before the Supreme Court seeking criminal action in relation to the alleged hate speeches made at Haridwar and Delhi was filed on his instructions.

Retired Judge of Patna High Court and Senior Advocate, Anjana Prakash and journalist Qurban Ali are the Petitioners in the PIL that was moved by Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal last week. The Court issued notice and adjourned the matter by ten days.

K. A. Paul who claims to be the 'world's most popular evangelist' has claimed in a video message to his followers, "Now I have a news for youWe went to the Court, on 26th (December) I spoke to Kapil Sibal ji, India's No. 1 Lawyer. He filed in the Supreme Court....sent the notices.... and Tyagi and his gangs were arrested". 

In the same video, published on this official Facebook page on January 16, he calls upon his followers to pray for the FCRA license of Mother Teresa's charity to be restored and says that his plea will be heard next week.

His plea, a PIL, filed by him and his NGO Global Peace Initiative was mentioned by Senior Advocate Santosh Hegde before the Supreme Court on Thursday and the Court directed that the matter be listed on Monday.

In his speech, he also claims that he will be approaching the Supreme Court seeking postponement of the elections In Uttar Pradesh to April, citing Covid-19 and Omicron. He asks followers to pray that the Supreme Court and Election Commission will work together to postpone the elections. 

He says that in the elections, Mayavati, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi should work with Akhilesh Yadav to save UP from BJP. He calls upon "millions of Christians, Muslims and peace-loving Hindus" to support Akhilesh Yadav. He says he had a three-hour meeting with Mulayam Singh Yadav in UP.

K. A. Paul is also the founder of the Praja Shanti Party, a political party of Andhra Pradesh.
