Breaking| Delhi HC Dismisses Arvind Kejriwal's Bail Plea In Excise Policy Scam Case, Grants Liberty To Approach Special Judge
|The Delhi High Court has denied interim bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the corruption case related to the excise policy scam. The Court pronounced the order which was reserved on July 29.
Kejriwal is currently lodged in Tihar jail. Last month, the Delhi Court extended the Chief Minister's judicial custody until August 8.
The Bench of Justice Neena Bansal Krishna held, "It cannot be said that the arrest was without any justifiable reason, or was illegal. The petition stands dismissed. So far as the Bail application is concerned, disposed of with liberty to petitioner to approach the Special Judge."
Pertinently, on July 17, the Court reserved order in his plea challenging arrest in the case.
On July 2, the Court had issued notice to the CBI in Kejriwal's plea challenging arrest. Thereafter, Kejriwal also moved a bail plea; in the same case, a notice was issued to the CBI on July 5.
