Centre Notifies Appointment Of Four Judicial Officers As Additional Judges Of Madras High Court

The Ministry of Law and Justice today has notified the appointment of four Judicial Officers as Additional Judges Of Madras High Court.

The appointments are:

  • Ramasamy Sakthivel
  • P. Dhanabal
  • Chilmasamy Kumarappan; and
  • Kandasamy Rajasekar

The notification reads, "In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (i) Ramasamy Sakthivel, (ii) P. Dhanabal, (iii) Chilmasamy Kumarappan and (iv) Kandasamy Rajasekar, to be Additional Judges of the Madras High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices."

The Supreme Court Collegium had on March 21 recommended their names for appointment to Madras High Court. It had also recommended and reiterated the name of Advocate R. John Sathyan as a Judge of the Madras High Court.
