Deregistration Of Planes Of Go First Aircraft: Delhi High Court Lists Case For Next Hearing On May 30
|The Delhi High Court in a case relating to the deregistration of the planes of the Go First Aircraft has listed the matter for the next hearing on May 30, 2023.
A Single Bench of Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju directed, “List on 30.05.2023 at 3.00 p.m. for arguments on behalf of the Respondents. … Learned Counsel for the parties shall file their respective written synopsis, not exceeding three pages each, at least one day before the next date of hearing, along with compilations of judgments, if any, they wish to rely upon.”
Senior Advocates Satvik Varma, Dayan Krishnan, and Mukul Rohatgi appeared on behalf of the petitioners while SPC Anjana Gosain, CGSC Rajesh Gogna, Senior Advocates Ramji Srinivasan and Sandeep Sethi appeared on behalf of the respondents.
In this case, many aircraft lessors of Go First prayed before the Court for the deregistration of their planes by the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) so that they could take them back from the crisis-hit airline. The said lessors submitted that denial of deregistration by the DGCA is illegitimate in nature.
The High Court after hearing the arguments of the counsel observed, “All judgments sought to be relied upon by the learned Counsel for the parties shall be filed with an index which also sets out the relevant paragraph numbers and the proposition of law that it sets forth.”
