SC Collegium Recommends Appointment Of Justice N V Anjaria As Chief Justice Of Karnataka High Court
|The Supreme Court Collegium comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Sanjiv Khanna and B R Gavai recommended the appointment of Justice N V Anjaria as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.
The notification dated February 7, 2024 reads, “Mr Justice Anjaria was appointed as a Judge of the High Court of Gujarat on 21 November 2011 and has been functioning there since then. Before his elevation as a Judge of the High Court, he practised in the High Court of Gujarat in civil, constitutional, company law, labour and service matters and specialized in civil and constitutional cases. He is a competent judge with a sound knowledge of law and possesses impeccable integrity. In his conduct as a judge he has maintained the standard required of a person holding high judicial office”.
Justice N V Anjaria
Born on March 23, 1965, in Ahmedabad, he obtained his LL.B. in 1988 and a Master's Degree in Law in 1989. Starting his legal career in 1988 at the High Court of Gujarat, they handled various cases, including constitutional matters, civil disputes, and labour issues. He served as Standing Counsel for several entities and received a research fellowship in 1992. Notably, He contributed to legal publications and was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Gujarat in 2011, later confirmed as a permanent Judge in 2013.
