Centre Notifies Appointment Of Acting CJ Of Chhattisgarh High Court
|The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Justice Goutam Bhaduri as the Acting Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
“In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Goutam Bhaduri, senior most puisne judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 11.03.2023 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Arup Kumar Goswami, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh.”, the notification read.
Justice Goutam Bhaduri is the recipient of gold medal in L.LB. He had joined the law practice in the year 1985. Justice Bhaduri practiced law in various subordinate courts within the jurisdiction of Chhattisgarh and the erstwhile State of Madhya Pradesh as also High Court.
Justice Bhaduri has dealt with the matters of Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Company, Labour. He was standing counsel for C.B.I. and for the Public Sector Undertakings - SAIL, NTPC, Banks and also several Private Corporate Bodies. He was elevated as Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court in 2013.
