Centre Notifies Appointment Of Three Acting Chief Justices And One Additional Judge
|The Central Government, through notifications dated November 9, has recommended the Appointment of three Acting Chief Justices and one Additional Judge of different High Courts.
Per the recommendations, Justice Lanusungkum Jamir to be appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava as Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, and Justice Manmohan as Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.
Additionally, the Centre has notified the appointment of Advocate N. Unni Krishnan Nair as Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court. The Supreme Court Collegium comprising CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, and Justice Sanjiv Khanna, through a notification dated October 17, had recommended the name of Advocate N Unni Krishnan Nair for appointment as Judge of the Gauhati High Court.
Justice Lanusungkum Jamir
He obtained a law degree from North Eastern Hill University in 1988. He was appointed to the position of Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court on May 22, 2013. He took oath as Judge of the Gauhati High Court on June 10, 2022.
Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava
He obtained a gold medal in LL.B. from K R Law College in Bilaspur. He was designated as Senior Advocate on January 31, 2005, and elevated to Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court on December 10, 2009. He was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court and took oath on October 18, 2021.
Justice Manmohan
He practiced law in the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi in 2008, and appointed as a Permanent Judge in 2009
