Bombay High Court Directs Bar Council To Initiate Action Against Lawyer Who Appeared Before It Without Proper Attire
The Bombay High Court directed the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa to initiate appropriate action against a lawyer who did not appear in proper uniform before the Court.
The bench of Justice Prithviraj K. Chavan noted that Advocate Jagdish Ahuja who appeared for the petitioner in a criminal writ petition, enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa has appeared before the Court without proper attire.
Advocate Jagdish M. Ahuja appeared for the Petitioner.
The Court noted that the Advocate was without bands and Advocate’s Gown as prescribed by the Rules.
Accordingly, the Court directed the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa to initiate appropriate action against him.
The Court also directed that a copy of the order be furnished to the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
