The Kerala High Court has suspended its Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA and Court Keeper Sudheesh PM pending enquiry in relation to the skit performed during the Court's official Republic Day function mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Central Government schemes.

Complaints were filed against a skit performed during the official Republic Day function of the Kerala High Court today by the staff of the High Court in the Auditorium inside the High Court. The skit mocked and ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and policies of the Central Government. "Cow dung" jibe has been used against supporters of PM Narendra Modi, without naming the Prime Minister. (read report)

Assistant Registrar Sudhish TA reportedly wrote the dialogues for the skit.

"Whereas, it is considered necessary by the High Court in the public interest that Shri. Sudhish T.A., Assistant Registrar Hr. Gr., High Court and Sri. Sudheesh P.M., Court Keeper (Higher Grade)., High Court should be suspended from service pending enquiry and disciplinary action, the matter relating to derogatory content and criticism against the Government in the stage show performed at the High Court Auditorium during the Republic Day Celebrations, 2024", says the proceedings issued today evening by the Registrar General of the High Court.

As per the proceedings, the Chief Justice of the High Court has ordered that the officers be suspended with immediate effect.

The Chief Justice has also ordered a detailed enquiry by the Registrar (Vigilance) as to the above incident and to submit a report.

The Chief Justice has also directed the Registrar (Administration) to "furnish a detailed explanation as to the circumstances in which the above incident took place".
