The National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) has launched a mobile application titled ‘NCRB Sankalan of Criminal Laws’ which compiles the New Criminal Laws: Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BNA). The App’s release precedes the enforcement of these new laws on July 1.

Available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, the App aims to serve a broad audience, including the General Public, Court Officers, Advocates, Law students, and Police Officials, enhancing their knowledge of the new criminal laws, as per the Ministry of Home Affairs.

‘NCRB Sankalan of Criminal Laws’ offers a comprehensive guide to the new legislation, featuring an index that links all chapters and sections of the new laws and a comparison chart for old and new laws with a search and linking facility for quick information retrieval. Notably, the ASpp functions in offline mode (without internet), ensuring access without connectivity even in remote places.

With its user-friendly design, comprehensive content, and innovative features, the App empowers its users to learn the new laws effectively.

The mobile application has two types of comparative charts, one with which compares the sequential provisions of the respective new laws with the old statutes and the other one which compares the provisions of the sequential provisions of the old statutes with the new provisions.

The App was released in February and was launched by Home Minister Amit Shah who posted on social media, "The Modi government is committed to making the rolling out of the new criminal justice system seamless. Launched the NCRB website and mobile app "Sankalan". The new app will enable a smooth implementation of the new justice system by bridging the new and old criminal laws. It will also guide the citizens and law enforcement agencies of the country".
