MP High Court Starts Drive For Disposal Of Old Cases, 25 Year Old Writ Petition Disposed Of
A 25-year old case pending before the Madhya Pradesh High Court was disposed by a Bench of Chief Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla. The case was listed for hearing in a drive initiated by the newly appointed Chief Justice to dispose of old cases pending before the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
"After taking charge of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, keen interest is being taken by Hon'ble the Chief Justice Shri Ravi Malimath and companion Hon'ble Judges, for disposal of old pending cases. Resultantly, the old final hearing cases are being heard expeditiously with proper cooperation of the advocates," a statement issued by Majoj Kumar Shrivastava, Principal Registrar (Judicial) of the Madhya Pradesh MP said in a press release.
It further states, "Under this drive, a 25 year old Writ Petition No. 2538/1996 filed on 03-07-1996, which was pending since 1996 has been disposed today (November 16) by the Division Bench comprising Hon'ble the Chief Justice Shri Ravi Malimath and Hon'ble Justice Vijay Kumar Shukla."
