The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Haryana State Government to remove the barricades set up at the Shambhu border within a period of one week.

The farmers have been camping at the Shambhu border near Ambala since February 13, seeking fulfillment of their demands.

The State Government had set up the barricades at the Ambala-New Delhi national highway in February month when the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha announced to move towards Delhi in support of various demands, including a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price for crops.

The Court was dealing with a petition filed against the sealing of border between the States of Punjab and Haryana.

The Court also said that if any law and order situation will arise, it can take preventive action as per law. The Punjab State Government has also been told that if there is any barricading at their side, it should also be removed.

The SKM and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have been leading the 'Delhi Chalo' march by farmers to accept their demands.
