Justice Indira Banerjee To Speak Today On "Women In Law: Catalyst In Social Change"
Justice Indira Banerjee will speak today on the topic "Women in Law - Catalyst of Social Change."
The retired Judge of the Supreme Court is the Chief Guest along with Justice Prathiba M. Singh of the Delhi High Court, at an event to commemorate International Women's Day.
The Guests of Honour at the event are Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW) and Prof. (Dr.) Raka Arya, Member of the Law Commission of India.
The event is being organised by the Supreme Court Unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad and will take place today i.e. March 19 at 4.30 pm.
The event will be held at the Auditorium of the Indian Society for International Law (ISIL), Opposite the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi.
During the event, the Women Senior Advocates who were recently designated by the Supreme Court will be feliciated.
In January this year, the Supreme Court had designated 11 woman lawyers as Senior Advocates. They were Advocates Shobha Gupta, Swarupama Chaturvedi, Liz Mathew, Karuna Nundy, Nisha Bagchi, Uttara Babbar, Haripriya Padmanabhan, Archana Pathak Dave, NS Nappinai, S Janani and Shirin Khajuria.
The event will end at 6.35 pm with the National Anthem.
