Bhim Sena Chief Arrested For Announcing Bounty For Cutting Nupur Sharma's Tongue, Threatening To Make Her Do Mujra
The Delhi Police arrested Bhim Sena chief Nawab Tanwar on Thursday for announcing a bounty of One Crore for cutting the tongue of Nupur Sharma.
Nawab Tanwar had issued a bounty of "Rs 1 crore for whoever brings tongue of Nupur Sharma" through a video message. He had also threatened to make Nupur Sharma "do mujra in public".
Nawab Tanwar was arrested from his residence by the Special Cell's Cyber Cell unit of the Delhi Police. FIR has been registered against Tanwar under Sections 506, 509 and 153A of the IPC.
Earlier, a complaint had been filed against Nawab by Advocate Aekansh Yadav before the Commissioner of Police, Gurgoan Range pointing out that Nawab has committed offences under Sections 107, 504, 499, 354 and 509 of the IPC.
The Complaint said that the Nawab has instigated and provoked the public against Nupur Sharma and has endangered her life.
Nupur Sharma, now suspended BJP spokesperson, has been receiving rape and death threats from various quarters inside and outside India after her controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad.
