Former Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain Sent To 14 Day Judicial Custody In Disproportionate Asset And Money Laundering Case
The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court today sent former Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain to Judicial Custody for 14 days till 27th June in relation to the Disproportionate Asset and Money Laundering matter.
Additional Solicitor General S. V. Raju appearing for the Enforcement Directorate submitted to the Court that the Directorate wants Judicial Custody. He also submitted that the Application for the medical report submitted on behalf of Satyendra Jain states that Jain is medically fit he is on medication for Blood Pressure which he is deliberately refusing to take.
ASG Raju also submitted that he needs some time to go through the bail application moved on behalf of Satyendra Jain as it is voluminous and he would require some time to go through it. He also stated that the medical report is being submitted before the court so that they may get bail on medical grounds
Senior Advocate Hariharan appearing for Satyendra Jain opposed and stated that Jain has medical issues and the bail application moved on behalf of Satyendra Jain does not have medical grounds as its basis.
Former Delhi Health Minister and a senior member of the Aam Aadmi Party Satyendra Jain has been facing investigation on charges of corruption by the Central Bureau of Investigation and on the charges of money laundering by the Enforcement Directorate.
Jain's bail plea will be heard tomorrow.
