It serves as a reminder of the heavy price paid for freedom, which we must always cherish and protect." Chief Justice N V Ramana wrote in the visitors' book at Jallianwala Bagh.

The Chief Justice is on a visit to Punjab. He, along with his family, also visited the Golden Temple at Amritsar.

The Chief Justice offered Saropa at the Golden Temple.


He greeted the people on the occasion of Baishakhi and wished the people of Punjab peace and prosperity. He paid obeisance to the Gurugranth Saheb.

Justice Ramana also became the first Chief Justice of India to visit the Wagah Border and zero point and witness the parade of BSF.



Chief Justice Ramana was welcomed by the Chief Minister of Punjab upon his arrival at Amritsar yesterday.


The Chief Justice along with his spouse paid floral tributes to Babasaheb Ambedkar at Town Hall, Amritsar on his 131st birth anniversary.
