"Organisations Like The RSS Need To Be Strengthened To Prevent Spread Of Terrorist Activities In India": Justice J. B. Koshy On Killing Of Pandits In Kashmir
Justice Jacob B. Koshy was speaking while presiding over a function in Ernakulum on Sunday, also attended by Dattatreya Hosabale, the General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Justice J. B. Koshy is presently heading a commission constituted by the Kerala Government in January this year to study the problems faced by the minority Christian community in Kerala.
Justice Koshy retired as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court in May, 2009. He was the Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court while he was appointed as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court. From 2011 to 2016, Justice Koshy served as the Chairperson of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission.
While delivering his presidential address in a Vijayadashami function organized by the RSS, Justice Koshy said, "RSS is an organization of patriots that works for the integrity and progress of our country. It is an organization that takes stand on issues considering the best interest of the country".
Justice Koshy also said that there is an attempt to mislead minorities in the country about the RSS. He added that he is a Christian and a member of the Orthodox Church, and that his is a congregation that functions inculcating India's culture, and without any foreign dominance.
Justice Koshy made a reference to the attack on Gurudwaras by the Taliban in Afghanistan and the recent killings of Pandits in Kashmir. He then said, "Organizations like the RSS need to be strengthened to prevent the spread of terrorist activities, like what is happening in our neighboring countries, to our country".
Justice Koshy said that a unity is visible in the diversity in our country.
Justice Koshy also spoke about the nine values that the festival of Vijayadashami signifies.
