Centre Notifies Transfer And Appointment Of Chief Justices Of High Courts
The Central Government has notified the transfer of Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, Justice Pankaj Mittal as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.
The Centre has also notified the appointment of Justice PB Varale as Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court and Justice AM Magrey as Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
The Collegium had also recommended the transfer of Orissa High Court's Chief Justice Dr. Justice S. Muralidhar as the Chief Justice of the Madras HC. However, his name is yet to be approved by the Centre.
The notification of the appointments and transfer was announced by the Union Law & Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju on Twitter.
As per the Constitutional provisions, Justice Pankaj Mittal is transferred to Rajasthan as Chief Justice of Rajasthan HC, Justice PB Varale is appointed as Chief Justice of Karnataka HC & Justice AM Magrey as Chief Justice of J&K & Ladakh HC.
